Of Unicorns and Virgins

Super Sculpey, Acrylic paint, soft body construction.

“Inspired by the  “Unicorn Tapestries” created in the 15th century “Of Unicorns and Virgins”
is a modern take on the mystery behind the tapestries. Maybe the Unicorn is not simply a
metaphor for virginity and purity, but more an image of the seductive and unattainable
qualities of virginity. The  guise of a burlesque dancer, gives the Unicorn an air of “look but
not touch”, with a tinge of “come hither” under her long lashes.”
