The Kākāriki Guardian watches over all living creatures. In the spring, they nurture baby seedlings and help them to grow into healthy saplings. The Kākāriki draws nutrients and tree magic up through its roots to pass on to the new seedlings so they grow into strong and healthy trees that become new protectors of the forest.

This is an Aotearoa/New Zealand interpretation of the Green Man, representing the new growth cycle that occurs every spring.
